Information needed. Clutch plates

3 posts in this topic

I have an XR600 clutch that I have purchased second hand for my '94 XR600. The clutch plates have 3 machined half circular indents evenly spaced on the drive tangs. Question: do these indicate the orientation of each plate or do you just stack them into the basket in any order.

I haven't gone in yet but I do need to do a clutch job too. So I hope to find this out before also. Even though I cant picture what your talking about, but I'm sure someone does.

My R has them too. I just stack 'em in a button it back up. I've never had an issue other than a worn out clutch after about 10,000 miles.
