07 Headlight Bulb

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what type of headlight bulb is in the 07, i.e., H4, H3, etc. I don't see any markings on it and the manual is of no help either except to indicate it's a 35/35 bulb. I'm looking to upgrade to a higher wattage bulb. Thanks.

i want to know the same. when i have some time, i'm gonna research what type of bulb this is exactly.

so far i have used the AC supply to the headlight to power the second filament, what i find to be high-beam, with excellent results. i still have not tested at night, so will see if i am right about both working well and the second being the Hi-beam. with both of the filaments lit up, even at idle i get bright white light.:applause: now i want to up the wattage and see if the AC supply can do the job. so i imagine at even slightly higher revs, a higher wattage bulb will do fine.

hope i don't melt the housing!:ride:

THIS FORUM ROCKS!!!!? You ALL are so helpful.:censored:

The stock set up energizes the low beam (not the high as somebody mentioned). I wired up the high beam and the light points way too high. I had to adjust the aiming screw as far as it would go to the point where there's now a gap between the actual headlight and the plastic surroundings. This gives you two usable beams now, but with the ugly gap.

so i searched Hi and Low, for the bulb. i found out it MAY be a H6M style base. i have found a PIAA replacement that claims 35watt draw with 55 watt output... Google "H6M 35W PIAA" and it will come up... another great site was: http://www.fourstrokesonly.com/electrical.html

thanks for the heads up about the aim issue!

So, are you gonna buy one and test it for your WR brethren:devil:?

i just ordered an after-market bulb off eBay, and will test that one, for the Brethren. They (you) are good to me!!!

here it is:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H6M-Super-White-Halogen-Bulbs-pair-35-35W-or-45-45W_W0QQitemZ330086792410QQihZ014QQcategoryZ43980QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

or search for: H6M Super White Halogen Bulbs (pair) 35/35W or 45/45W

we will see if i melt things with the 45 watt bulb. my experience with "super white" is that PIAA is no better than the other brands, just way way more $$.

BIGGEST problem is that it is still COLDalicous here in CO so I will probably install it as soon as i get it (will the H6M fit??) then wait for it to get warm enough for my bike to start!!!

I'll keep posting as i get info.

Okay,

phase one:

the bulbs appear to be SIMILAR! :ride::censored:

i was able to install the H6M in the lens assembly, it is still too cold to test it out. i tentatively feel they are close enough, it fits well, no forcing and is more snug. who knows,? maybe they will fit such that the lens has a nicer street 'focus'. Search for '07 WR Headlight Bulb specs.' to see photos, but may need to wait for approval of Technical articles before it posts.

Phase two:

see if it works at night! beam pattern, etc.

Phase three:

see if 45/45 watt filaments lit at the same time are dim and/or melt the lens and housing!!!:applause:

I'll let you know ASAP!!!

I have been considering a new hi performance bulb as well.

Look here: http:/url]

This may make Identifing you bulb a little easier.

I can't seem to find this bulb in the Piaa catalog however I think I remember someone on TT saying they used it and it worked great. The BD site is the only place I have found it.
