Rekluse perch adjuster help!!

I posted this before in another topic, but didn't get many answers. so here it is again.

HELP!!!! Ok maybe that was a little over the top. But I need some info about the perch adjuster. I trimmed the boot, cut down the stock adjuster, got the longer clutch cable and READ THE DIRECTIONS 100 TIMES. What gives with the clutch actuator ( lever on the motor). If I pull in the clutch, it moves about a half an inch, maybe an inch. I have all my adjustments as far out as they go. It seems that the cable doesn't have enough length. Can someone point me in the right direction. I am getting a little frustrated. I can't ride yet anyway. Factory connection has my suspension and it is snowing now. So I guess I was right when I said "HELP!!!!!!"

thanks, you guys are the breast.

Did you flip the clutch actuator arm. Not sure what bike you have, but you have to do that on some models. Try calling Rekluse, they are awesome to deal with.

sorry, 06' yz450f

I put a Rekluse on my '05 YZ250 2 stroker with a little trouble from the cable thing. The cable will not tighten up until after you start your motor. The instructions are kind of confusing, I know. So when you get your cable all set up, it's like there is no pull to the clutch, right? That will change when you start your motor. If you are still having problems, call Rekluse, good people to help sort out these things.

Are you saying that when you pull the clutch lever all the way in, the actuator arm only move a 1/2 inch or so?

If so, it sounds right to me.

Here is how I adjust the cable slack with the perch adjuster. (forget about the actuator arm movement). Adjust the cable all the way out at the bars. Then adjust the cable in, until the hard spot on the lever is 1/2 inch away from the grip.

In other words... Your clutch lever should pull in really easy until the lever gets a 1/2 inch away from the grip, then it should be very difficult to pull the rest of the way.

The actuator arms don't move much with the Rekluse. Remember to release the spring on the actuator arm too.
