hi guys i have a clymer  yz 250 f manual, it is very descriptive. ive been using it to do a bottom end rebuild on my wr450.

ive found that the downloaded version from factory yamaha wr 450 pdf manual doesnt go into detail of small things. am i missing something?

would all torque ratings ect be the same as the 250. id like to find a descriptive full workshop manual for the 450

ive found that the clymer manual states when doing up head bolts on the yz 250f to go 19N.m in a crisscross pattern then 38N.m - job complete

on the yamaha 450 it says to tighten head bolts to 30N.m then undo the bolts, then do up to 20N.m then mark with paint on 1 corner then go tight 180degrees from that position. so it seems they are different

any thoughts, or has anyone else used the yz250f clymer manual for the wr?

Of course not.  The chassis, yes, but way off for the engine.

Here's an alternate link for the Yamaha manuals:

Krannie was unusually kind in his response regarding Clymer manuals.  Yes, they do flesh out the details a little better in some cases, and they were written by English speakers, but I have found too many gross inaccuracies with them to completely trust them anymore.  I would at least pull down the factory manual for a source of confirmation.
