All 2007 owners - Gearing Question

6 posts in this topic

Hi Guys,

Question: have any of you need to change the gearing on the 2007, on my 2003 I ran 13/51 as it was really good for the woods, but I here the 2007 has got more bottom end then earlier years.... have you found this correct and found that the 14/50 gearing is now very good...??

Thanks

Mine came with 13/50 std, but after the first ride and not having enough legs for the long straights i went up to 14/50 and loved it.

The engine has so much more pull than my last one, and i find that i have to feather the clutch, not to get the motor to spool up, but to keep the power down so as not to lift the front to high.

When I get mine for desert riding what size gears should I put? Lots of higher speed sections where I ride..
