XR600R's

Somehow I missed that one. Went back and found it. CR125 forks. Nice bike. I was thinking about possibly doing something similar. Not sure if it is worth the trouble just for trail riding. I used to have a 97 ATK 605DS with WP usd forks. That was a sweet set up.

Well after getting the right fork springs, Race Tech gold valves, rebuilding them with Moose sealand wipers, and getting the rear shock spring and shock revalved for me. It's really nice to ride. The forks smooth out the trails and you dont have the feeling of riding over your head. And when you decide to show up the 2 smokers, it's like landing on a really soft pillow.

That's my ride, altough it's an old pic:

A dual sport '94 XR600. Now i have some improvements, like the headers wrap and 640cc kit with 10:1 wiseco piston.

And i'm also installing a XR250 oil cooler on it.

That's one thing i'd like to do to mine before I dis assemble my bike and powder coat the frame. Cant seem to get one a good price.

thats a fender from a 2002 cr500

but they did not make the cr500 in 2002

A few recent pics of my 1994 6R street tard:

My current project with it is installing the front-end from a CR500.

DaveySprocket , How's that pumper 41 fcr carb for your bike? I was thinking of getting one for my 600.

Our tree is still up cause it won't die...!

Well guess what...? Santa came BACK and put some upgrades on my XR600R

All kidding aside I am thrilled about the new bike but you could never pry my XR600R from my cold dead hands ! NEVER !

I went ahead and did it. I bought some 1999 CR250R USD forks, and I am going to do the conversion. I have to find a triple clamp since they didn't come with one. Then a wheel and so on. I'm not in a hurry so time isn't a factor.

Here's my bike. It's a 96.

I noticed from a previous thread you were going to use 1999 CR250 forks, why did you change your mind? Are the 125's an eaiser conversion?

DaveySprocket , How's that pumper 41 fcr carb for your bike? I was thinking of getting one for my 600.

The carb is awesome. I have a couple of friends that are very talented motorcycle tuners and they both said the Keihin pumper was the only carb to consider. Unfortunately all the modifications went on the bike at the same time so I can not comment on just how much of a difference just the carb made. That being said, throttle response is instant and the power is amazing.

Do NOT purchase the carb from XR's Only. The statement that it comes pre-jetted for your mods and includes additional jets is complete crap. They also sent me the wrong throttle and the wrong throttle cable TWICE. Do yourself a huge favor and get it from sudco

When I got the fork from the guy I bought then from on ebay. I noticed when I pulled them apart to rebild they were 2 different year forks. So I went to the parts fiche and found my forks were different. The left for was from a 99 and the right was a 97. The insides were totally different. So I found another set for cheaper and from the same year bike. I have the old ones still if you know someone that could use them? But thats why I went with the 99 125. 125 and 250's were the same.

cbaranski, where did you get a stage 2 cam for the 600?

It's not a stage 2 cam, it's a stage 1. I just haven't changed that yet. Sorry to mislead anyone.

I fixed it. thanks for the reminder.

i have to agree the keihin 41fcr is a great carb it has been working flawlessly

cbaranski, thanks I was worried the ones I'm geeting (from ebay also) might not work. They don't have a triple clamp so I have to get one. Do you know if 00's will fit 99 forks? I think they should. And any chance your buudy who made the bushings for the stem could make a couple more? Thanks.

The upper and lower clamps that I got with the 98 set up was already done so when I got the 01 fork they fit into the 98 clamps with no problems at all. About the bushing, I had my buddy from work do them at work on hid free time in the machine shop. It took him 2 weeks to get them done because of the work load we have. I would think you could go to a local machine shop in your area if there is one and shouldn't cost to much. Or another option is go to www.emigracing.com and for $150 for the stem and $30 for the upper bushing. The only reason I went the route I did was because I didn't have the extra cash to buy the cool stuff.

more pics !

I'll get some more soon. Anything in particular you'd like to see on my bike?
