How does it get recharged on the L?

How long does the bike need to run to fully charge?

Is depleting the battery totally and recharging a good thing or bad?

Can the bike run w/o the battery? that is, push starting?

1.) The engine recharges it.

2.) the stator can put out about 15 or so amps. The battery is about 10 amp-hours, so it will take most of an hour to fully charge a totally discharged battery.

3.) Depleting the battery is bad. Each cycle like that takes a few percent out of the battery. What is really bad is leaving it in a discharged state. a process called sulphation takes place and can completely destroy a battery in just a few weeks.

4.) You can push start it, but it needs to turn the engine over fast enough to generate some juice. Unlike most other dirt bikes, the 650L doesn't use a magneto sytle ignition. It makes the spark from the battery voltage. No voltage, no spark.
