how much HP 650R

OK I've done a lot of searching and can't find any "official" horsepower numbers from Honda. Is this some kind of secret? I've seen some older posts and the HP numbers are all over the map.

650R stock

650R "uncorked"

Thanks!

The XR650R stock HP is about 29 or 30. Uncorked, basic hop up kit, jetting, airbox mods and blockoff kit about 36 hp. With a Pro Circuit or XR's Only exhaust about 48. With motor mods and a pumper carb I have seen 65 HP. Team Honda's XR650R Baja 1000 bike 70 HP. :worthy::D

Dyno 33~35rwhp (rear wheel horsepower - dyno) 42bhp (braking horsepower at the flywheel), stock corked. Uncorked 44 rwhp = 55bhp what Honda gives, 46~49rwhp with header/muffler, pumper carb., holes in air filter cover, HRC hop up kit is 52rwhp (64bhp what team Honda was said to have) 680cc engine with all the extras 58rwhp (72bhp) I have a whole bunch of dyno sheets from a lot of bikes from Edelbrock (got them from Barnum) and Dyno Dudes. Here are a few Dyno charts for the XR650R:

http://www.xr650r.borynack.com/dynocharts.htm

The difference between Dyno (rear wheel horsepower) and Engine Horsepower (Braking Horsepower) is about 24% for our bike.

33/35 stock,thats as much as a strong 125 2-stroke right?I figure my XR250 is doing about as much as a 3.5 hp briggs and stratton lawn mower.even un-choked.

It's all about the torque, not the peak hp. The 125 makes almost no torque until 5000 or more rpm. The peak torwue is nomly available in a short powerband somewhere way up in the very high rpm range. Any of the big bore Honda's have most of the torque avaliable by 2000 rpm. On a 125 gear selection is key. If you are in the wrong gear you are screwed. Not so with the big bores. No problem lifting that front wheel over an obstacle at almost any rpm.

lol.. my claimed 30hp xr400 hands suppostly 50hp crf450's there asses.. and my bike costs 1/3 the price of there crf's

A CR125 puts 32rwhp same as an XR400 with extra's but, the XR400 has much more torque.

CRF450R is 55bhp and 44rwhp the same as an uncorked XR650R but, not near the torque. Torque is 33ftp for the CRF450R and 42ftp for the XR650R

DRZ400E uncorked nice exhaust and air filter is 40rwhp! The DRZ400s is at 36rwhp. The torque is only 31ftp

Uncorked with exhaust and air box upgrades on a Dyno:

ok 33-35HP...the DRZ400 is 35 stock HP...if the DRZ can beat the 650R...well thats just sad

I have XR400's and XR650R's and the only time a XR400 can beat the XR650R in tight high paced single track, the DRZ400E does a little better once you redo the suspension and nowhere can I beat the CRF450R on a XR400, same rider, stock gearing on both.

Wish I could decipher some of that stuff there ,RC30.....

:worthy::D

second line from the bottom states the HP ..i think

great, you guys know your stuff!

Thanks.

My pig is benched at 52,2Hk at 6100rpm and 64,9Nm at 5100 rpm at the rear wheel. Havent got a clue to what the former owner did with it but theres a Mikuni carb and there has been alot of tinkering with the head:thumbsup:

Edit:

Heres a XR650R Turbo that a Swede created and runs:thumbsup(Right click,save as):

It can't and don;t comfuse paper specs with what happens in the real world. Thats like saying a Honda Civic with 300 hp will beat a Mustang with 300hp...no way. The difference in tourque is substantial in both the civic analogy and the DRZ vs XRR deal. The XR650R even stock will spank a DRZ for lunch.
