XR650R-foot pegs

Anyone know of any aftermarket footpegs that are lower ( 1/2'-1" ). I have seen 'rolling' fastway type, but would prefer stationary ones.

i would go for the moose SS or mose ti.

they arnt lowered but they do grip nice!

I don't think that Fastway makes pegs to fit the 650R. Not very many people make pegs to fit the 650 at all. IMS is about the only one that I can think of off the top of my head.

If you want pegs that are that much lower than the stock position, I think that you will pretty much be on your own. You may be able to cut up a stock set and do some welding to make a pair that are lower, but I don't believe that is very feasable. For that much drop, you may also need to modify the footpeg mounts severely as well.

If you do find out an easy way to do this, be sure to post, as I am sure that there are alot of people here that would like that information!!

I recently purchased a set of whitebros stainless steel footpegs for my thunderpig(XR650R) and they installed flawlessly. They are wider and sit a little lower than stock. Overall I am very impressed with the quality and they were worth the $$$. Check them out:http://www.whitebrothers.com/2007/_mx/stainlesssteelfootpegs.html

Wow another newbie, Welcome to Thumpertalk, stevevh.....

I've seen the IMS Pro somewhere for $79 but don't know if they sit any lower.

I have the IMS Pros and they are about where the stock pegs were, don't fit very well either, but good grip and quite a bit more comfortable to stand on.

How much lower?

I just dug this post up because I searched the Moose foot pegs and wanted to let everyone know that they make them with stock height and in a half inch back model for the xr650r. I just ordered a pair, they should be great.

I have since put on the Moose Ti pegs on my 650R. Way better than the IMS IMO. Much larger. Of course they are also big $$$.

You might try to PM mjslim, he is making higher bar mounts and lower foot pegs for taller riders. I don't know if they are ready yet, but I've seen the ones on his personal bike. Nicely done.

Is this a height thing? If so how tall are you? I'm 6'2". I bought the top clamp from RSW racing out of Gilroy Ca. One option is a 3" riser that works really well for me ergonomicaly. The downside to them is that the riser bolt is smaller than the bolt on my CR so it has to be really tight to keep from coming loose in a crash.

if you are not a big guy why ride the 650r anyways?

OK besides awesome reliability WHY???

i love mine but sometimes(mostly on really long single track) wish I could be the guy who enjoyed riding a wr250 or a 450x(both great bikes!!!)

If they only fit me.

I say ride some more scooters and find one that fits you w/o lowering the pegs.

There are plenty of options out there.

There are those out there that grew up riding big four stroke singles. If that is the case, a CRF, WR, or anything else is just not a four stroke single (I like to call 'em three strokes). This significantly narrows down the list of what bikes you want. If you are addicted to stump pulling bottom end power there is no 450 made that will feed your need.

And if the above statement doesn't make sense to you, then you won't understand the mentality and should just let it be!

I've spent lots of time racing and riding on 450X's and KXFs, and have a KTM505SX-F. I can still honestly say that if push came to shove and I could only ride one bike for the rest of my life that it would be the 650. I'd just hate having to beat the living $#!& out of my baby on the motocross track. For some reason 650Rs don't like supercross style whoop sections and jump sections. And I wonder why I break off the right side foot peg brackets...

Some of the most competitive (and fast) riders I know on the 650R are small build. They might be better off on a 450, but the pig seems to work well for them

Well I just put the Moose stainless pegs on and they are great. Very big platform that feels stable and the traction is awesome. The fitment was a bit off though. The stock pins are alittle short for them meaning I had to put the cotter pins in without the back up washers, there isn't enough room for the washers. I also noticed they are virtually identicle to the White Bros pegs I have on my cr500AF. Like they are the same pegs with a different name on them.
