Traded my 250F for a 426F!

I am new to this forum.

I was hanging out over in the 250F spot, but I just traded the 250F off 2 weeks ago.

I traded straight across: My 2002 YZ 250F for a 2000 426F....

So far I'm happy!

Congrats on the new ride:thumbsup: You won't be disappointed in the trade. 426's are great machines, tons of fun and as bulletproof a bike as you will find. Ride safe:ride:

Yeah.... It's wierd actually.

In the woods, I can lug it a little better than the 250F.

I thought that it would be Snappier and like to chug out when you try to wick through trees in the woods.....but it does a little better I think?

The noticable power difference I can feel, is when you get into the meat of the gear.

It will pull the front wheel in every gear at half throttle. Plus, in 4th and 5th gear it's scarry to wrap it all the way out.

I'm pretty sure I was going well over 70 in 4th gear. I wrapped the throttle all the way and it straightened my arms right on out for me. It was still gaining speed when I let off the throttle and shifted to 5th.

Same scenario for 5th gear too. I ran out of road to play with way before I ever saw the top end of 5th!

It's definitly got the power!

I bought mine off the showroom floor in 01 and its been a great bike. Still as good compression and I havent cracked the top end yet.

I just went the other way, sold my 426 for a 250F. Traded grunt for flickabilty and handling on tighter tracks.. My 426 just liked to stand up on corners while the 250 likes to lean and turn. Wish I had the 426 motor in the 250F frame and weight. Neither is right, just what you prefer.

Its a good ride man rode 2 strokes all my life and got a deal on mine and its a trench digger. If you do any mods try the boyseen quick shot pump best bang for you buck.
