Langston on new ride..

Bout time.

Bout time.

very nice bike..lets see if he has the kahunnas to ride it well

GL looks really good in blue!

GL looks really good in blue!

Yes, but Blue doesn't look good on Grant Langston.....

Just out of idle curiosity, is there someone Yamaha could hire, assuming they could go and get any active racer they wanted to, that you guys would be happy with?

I think as long as he stays healthy...he'll do well, especially outdoors. again..assuming he stays healthy. that bike looks reaaaaal nice tho:thumbsup:

How cool would it be to see Windham on a YZF?

That would be cool. I've always admired him as a person, and I like seeing him do well no matter what he rides.

But you understand my point. The song has been "Reed's a crybaby", and Vuillimen's a prima donna, and now Langston's a whining cripple. I just wondered who would be acceptable to some of these guys.

Bear in mind, I share everybody's frustration with Yamaha's apparent lack of ability (or will) to land a really high profile number one rider, but Grant's not a third rate rider, either.

It is what it is. Let's see how it works.

YEEAHH!!! Factory Yamaha's my favorite race team and GL is my favorite ride for a while and now theyre together! this is good!

oh... and that picture... its my desktop now

My thoughts exactly!Grant had two good years in the lites class to build his confidence back up.He will do great on the big bike.Yamaha made a good decision by hiring him,hes a hard worker and he doesnt give up!It sounds like he's really serious about this year(hired Jeff Spencer as his trainer)and he waited untill he was fully healthy before jumping back on the bike.

I had no issues with Reed...he was out classed by RC, but his skills on a technical track were right up there. I don't like the "Cobra" for various reasons, but Grant Langston seems to ride more Arenacross style without a real respect for the sport and the image he puts out. These guys are the idols for our kids, and I don't think he portrays that role very well.

You bring up a good point, Grey (as always!), as to who they could get....I think they need to build from the 125 class (sorry, the LITES class) again in order to build a solid, long lasting team. I don't think Langston will make them happy, and I hope they are using him as a pure transitional "gap filler" role as they bring someone else up through the ranks. Heck, go to the Loretta Lynn qualifiers and start following the winners.....that's the future of the sport, so why not get them early? That's what Team Green seems to do (RC, JS, RV, etc). Great things have come from that program.

I just hated to see GL sign with Yamaha...but, maybe Yamaha can polish his rough edges and make him a true factory rider. We shall see.
