grey wire question

4 posts in this topic

If I understand things correctly, the grey wire is ignition timing...I own an 06' model, and I wasn't aware any of these bikes has a "rev limiter".

The grey wire has nothing to do with the rev limiter, which these bikes do have. I'm not sure when they hit, but I've hit mine multiple times. For an explanation of what the grey wire does, go to ThumperFAQ...SC

REV limit for OEM cdi is 10800rpm.

Aftermarket unit such as Vortex , can raise that if you want a race machine.

I have not got near the Vortex limit of 11700rpm since switching to the V.

That motor can screen.
