Ignition Timing

2 posts in this topic

I am trying to check my igintion timing thru the upper left side cover hole

but as soon as i start the motor I am welcomed with a shower of oil.

I dont see a crank bearing seal so the oil surrounds the alternator.

is it normal? xr600 98

Ignition timing is not adjustable. It's an either it works or it doesn't kind of thing.

Yes the flywheel is in the oil. It's normal.
