2006 450 Oil quantity

I am new to the message board so maybe this has been asked before...I bought a 2006 YZ 450 F and change the oil often. The manual says: Periodic Oil change add 0.95 L; with Oil Filter replacement: 1.0 L; Total amount 1.2 L

Huh??? how does any of that equal 1.2 L? I would go by the oil gauge, but my past experience is the dipsticks and Oil check bolts cannot be trusted. Should I just put a Liter in every time and be good? Thanks.

The motor will hold a small amount, 200cc, when you drain it. I don't know why factories create these cavities but they do.

If you run the engine, then shut down, open the dipstick, drain the integral oil tank (left side), drain the crankcase (right side), and change or clean the filter, it will take 1 liter, or 1.1 U.S. quarts to refill it.

And if they didn't, what would there be to run all over the work bench when you open up the engine? Think, man.

It overfills easy 1 qt - then warm it up recheck and add .1 or .2

The 1.2 in which they are talking about is if the motor has been completely drained, IE motor rebuild etc. Like stated earlier, when you drain your oil there will still be a small amount of oil left in your engine.
