Reserve is only about .6 gallons with the dual petcock set up so what I do is turn the right side petcock off and use it as an additional capacity for reserve. That should give you a 100 mile total range with a 25 mile reserve.

Hey Indy, how many litres is this tank? I was gonna convert it and then i found there are imperial gallons and us gallons, Also what is the best fuel economy you ever got out of your new tank babying her, I just got back from a long ride tonight and put 140 km on her and I still have about 1/4 tank left i'd say... averaging 80km/h driving on dirt road.

1 US gallon = 3.785 liters

So a 3.3 gallon tanks holds appoximately 12.5 liters.

I got a top of 125 miles (200 km) of steady riding at 40 mph (65 kmh ) average on firm gravel roads and a low of 85 miles (140 km) on tough mountain technical trails.

What I can't figure out is how the Nufie's have money for all these mod's?

I just got back from another ride, IM up to 201km now and still not on reserve, I put a flashlight down in my tank and you can see from the sides the two little drop parts are both still almost full, I guess im not gonna get much further without going on reserve but im gonna find out tomorrow...... 240 km is the nearest town from me, i was hoping that i could reach it there using the reserve and all. It would be close from what I can tell.... 200 km on 10 litres is 20 km per litre, two litres reserve will give me another 40. I will be trying this next year, with some gas of course for spare but I think it would be close.

Update on fuel. I hit 221km today and she started to backfire, I put her on reserve and she was good again, then at 227km she ran empty. definatly not .6 gallons reserve, more like .6 of quart. Anyhow, im happy to get this kinda milage on 12.5 litres.

Just order it from Yamaha ( Acerbis 3.3 gallon tank) fit 03/04/05 and some say it can be made to fit the 06 as well:

Part # GYT-5TA24-00-RB (for a blue tank)

Part # GYT-5TA24-00-CL (for a clear tank)

Yes, the major online retailers no longer stock them. I bought mine 4 months ago and had to call several companies to locate one.

And, hello, this is my first post. See yall around.

TT store has them. Ask them to get the part number from the Acerbis cataloge. I talked to them yesterday about a 3.3 gallon for my 05. $210.00 US and free shipping.

Earlier the week they didn't have. I'll try again though.

Why would Acerbis dis-continue the tank?:worthy:
