occasional metallicy 'grunch' when kicking

4 posts in this topic

I think it's always when the piston is at the top of the stroke and I attempt to kick it. (very strong legs)

Anything to be concerned about.

I get this too from time to time I thought it was the decompressor sometimes it can feel like the engine is seized then you can kick past it and it frees

I've decided not to worry about it!

I noticed that a couple times, sounds like kickstart ratchet, mine starts first kick if I get it up on compression and pull decomp and push the kicker down 6 inches release lever and return kicker to top and give a strong steady kick I feel it fire when the kickers at the bottom.

I don't know exactly what it is but it is normal. I have taken mine apart just to make sure nothing was wrong and everything looks fine.
