What kind of regular suspension maintenance should I be doing?

2 posts in this topic

I have never maintained my suspension. Sure I will keep fresh oil in my bike and a clean air filter but I have never done anything to my suspension. I will just take it in when something starts leaking. So, my question is what should I be doing regularly and what parts/chemicals/tools will I need to do it?

At first I didnt think it was that important since I was trail riding but I am starting to get into mx and so I think that it is a lot more important to maintain my suspension.

I am no pro by any stretch of the imagination but I change the oil in my forks 2 times per year and the shock once per year. They are like any other oil,,,they get dirty and break down.

Also, keeping the steering bearings and shock linkage properly greased is huge in the handling and longevity of your bike.
