Seemingly good deal on motorcycle jack

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but Pep Boys is having a sale on the "Torin™ Big Red 1500 lb. Motorcycle Jack."

I just bought one and seems to be a great deal.

Reg 69.99 with a $20 mail in rebate, so $49 plus tax, not bad. Here is a link to the jack and the rebate page. Offer is only good until 07/29/06

yep, got the same thing. mine cost bout the same....wish it lifted higher....but i lifts my harley with out a problem so its good enough.

As was mentioned, some 4x4's, etc. could be used to increase the height some.

I have wondered about these, too: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=39178

Couldn't the saddle be adapted for bikes?

This could be a cheaper alternative to the $400-ish motorcycle scissor stands.

I bought one exactly like it from Sears, had the Craftsman moniker on it, cost $99.00 but on sale for $69.00, thought it was a great deal till the next week saw them at Pep for same deal shown here! Coulda saved 20 clams...oh well, it works great! May have to buy another one since I got another XR now to make two!

I got one from Pep Boys here near Dallas for about $69.00 on a December

special..... it's great. It gets my XR650R well off the ground... in fact I never

jack it with the wheels more than 3" off the ground. It'll take them to almost

9" (back an front) it's great ?

I think you can get a typical motorcycle LIFT like the ones at the dealership at Harbour Freight for around $300.00, I donlt know if they have "specials" or not but I saw one at my HF here in Albukwaky and it looked pretty good. It needed a compressor to work, but I have a kickass 30gal industrial compressor.

heres one for $569.00 looks real good. I may buy one if they still have them at HF for $300.00

hmmm...

300 lbs weight capacity

:ride:

They just included that data so as to not insult their customers by implying the lift makes their bikes look fat. ?

All silliness aside, I'd lift my L, accoutrements and all, with it. I think it would be OK. Also, I believe the steel one has mor capacity than the aluminum model. I like the look of the aluminum one better, but I think it is marketed/designed for MX life---travel, pits, portability, etc. If its just going to hang around in your shop/garage, the steel one would be more bang for the buck, and cheaper to boot.
