need some wiring help

1 post in this topic

hi. 86 xr600r. made a wiring harness for blinkers, works perfect hooked up to a battery. the orig. owner hooked up a brake light, works great. he then ran a hot wire up front and capped it off, possibly for future signals? well i hooked into that then grounded the harness. now my tail light blinks and the signals are very weak. if i ran the power from the head light into my harness should that fix it, or will the headlight blink then? it looks like the brake light wire and the extra hot wire are hooked up together. thanks for any ideas. tim. also i'am useing single filament lights, wedge type.12v/ 21 watts i think. i also believe the stock stator puts out 160 watts on this year.
