Front fork adjusting problems...(426)

Hey fellers...

My buddy just got himself an 02 426 used. We went to set-up the suspension for him and all seemed fine until we went to adjust the rebound for the front left fork. Normally I have just turned the screw all the way in and then counted clicks out.

Problem is: in attempting to turn the screw in...it never stops turning. :thumbsdown: It is still clicking w/ each turn, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Obviously something is damaged on the fork. Any suggested as to where to start and how hard of a job this will be?
