'06 Wr450f Exhaust Cam

3 posts in this topic

It is my understanding that the stock intake cam on my '06 WR450F is the same as the '06 YZ450, but the exhaust cam is different. Has anyone tried to put the YZ exhaust cam in the WR, because I did and the timing was so far off when I aligned all the timing marks that it wouldn't even start. I need to know if the timing marks on the YZ cam need to be misaligned in order to be timed correctly.

the yz cam works quite well in the wr.

roll it over to TDC comp. leave the intake cam cap on. put the new ex cam in using its timing mark...................... it isnt hard.

take pictures if you cant figure it out. also remember you will have to reshim the 2 ex valves!!!

I did leave the intake cam/cap in when I installed th YZ ex cam, and the stock intake cam worked fine when I reinstalled it. I'll give it another try, I'm probably being a dumbass. Thx.
