and should i make the pipe into a shorty? i know how to do it because i did it befor but would i gain any power? when i did it to my 400ex i didnt realy feel a gain.

and for the clutch. is it the springs or the clutch plates that give a lightend fly wheel effect?

Glad I am not the only one thinking that.

But what can you expect from a quad rider named getdrunk!

Do you where a helmet when you ride drunk?

Seriously, your question makes no sense, not to mention your talking about quad crap in the cycle section. There is a yz quad section!

If the motor is in good condition is should be making 47-49 hp set up like it is.

The clutch is not the correct approach to "lightening" the flywheel. Not sure why you would want to lighten it, however you can buy flywheel weights.

Well you would lighten the flywheel for a quicker revving motor. Regarding pipe length, the short pipe will provide more top end at a cost, less bottom end. That doesnt necessarily mean you will get any gains from either mod. There is a bit more to it than cutting the pipe off. BTW is that 13 hours of school total for your life, this year or this week? Can you physically ride faster than you do now? Is the throttle against the stop all of the time? If you answered the above questions "yes", you should be talking to Yamaha not TT. You must be really fast or there isnt any turns or jumps. Oh yeah you still have those training wheels.

After reading your post again, why not put a real motor in that POS. How about a "Busa" motor, that should have enough power. Fog it, if it isnt enough. That should scare you out of your proud and drunken stupor. Hopefully when somebody does get killed doing something drunk and stupid it doesnt effect my family or the "court" will be held on my time.

Or, I am drunk and when I start my bike in the garage, the pipe glows red, does anybody know why? I say close the big door and let it run longer, the red will go away!

well first off i posted in the yamaha dirt bike spot because im talking about the yz426 dirt bike motor not the yfz450 motor because their not the same motor so i posted in here instead because i figerd i would better info sinse this is the spot for that bike.

and i wanted to know how much power i would have because the motor i just baught is a yz426 dirt bike motor and im going to be using k&n air filter/ white bros R seiries full system /the cam mod/ and riunning no air box so i was wondering what it would be putting out.

and about the shortining of teh pipes it does give bottom end. tc racing is a quad muffler compinier and they sell shortys and they add bottom end.

if you run too short of a muffler then you gain top. but if you do it right you gain bottom.

i wanted a lightend fly wheel so that it has more torq in the quad. can you put a yfz450 quad fly wheel in the yz426 motor?

every thing i said made sinse. if you were confused about teh clutch thing then you dont know any thing about clutches. when you buy an aftermarket clutch kit the quad feels a little more torqy. this is called a lightend fly wheel effect. i was wondering if it is the aftermarket plates that make that happen or if it is the stiffer springs.

its 13 hours a week of school

im always full throtol thats why my 400ex motor needed rings every 2 months and is now pritty shot.

i always have my helmit on.

i dont drive drunk. but have drove a couple times a little buzzed up.

about the training wheels thing well i may have 2 extra tires but quads put in faster lap times on the track.

i do take jumps. heres a pic part of my track http://teamxracing.cjb.net/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=1512578

my quad is not a pos. heres a old pic of it. it looks a little different now.

Those two things are your problem

i did that for power. i had to buy a kit so i can run like that. i have to stay out of mud and water. and i do and i dont like mud or water any way because it takes to long to clean up. im cleaning my quad non stop. to day i was cleaning it up from 10am-7pm. now it has orange oil lines

i want to because it makes it feel more torqy. it helps alout out of the berms too. it makes it easier to snub but i could get used to it fast. they make it for the yfz450 for a reason so i want to do it to the yz426 motor.

o yeah. and here is a old pic of the bottom end shorty i used to have.

Dude running a k and n air filter is about the worst thing you can do to your motor
and about the shortining of teh pipes it does give bottom end. tc racing is a quad muffler compinier and they sell shortys and they add bottom end.

if you run too short of a muffler then you gain top. but if you do it right you gain bottom.

nope shortining the pipe takes away bottom end there is a MXA article on it but i'm too lazy to look it up

lightening the flywheel gives more top end not bottom
when you buy an aftermarket clutch kit the quad feels a little more torqy.
no duh it slips less
this is called a lightend fly wheel effect
no its not.
i was wondering if it is the aftermarket plates that make that happen or if it is the stiffer springs.
New clutch plates of any brand are grabby so it makes it feel more "torqy" and the clutch springs make the discs slip less and last longer
im always full throtol thats why my 400ex motor needed rings every 2 months and is now pritty shot.
buy a yamaha yfz450 and you'll never have any problems
i dont drive drunk. but have drove a couple times a little buzzed up.
now thats something to be proud of
about the training wheels thing well i may have 2 extra tires but quads put in faster lap times on the track.
lol your crazy
