Keihin FCR 41 jetting thoughts?

4 posts in this topic

For the rebuild of my 600R I decided to go with this new carb. XR's Only makes it sound like it would be jetted properly for the specific application as well as including additional jets, though I am not sure how much faith to put into that claim. The carb came with jets installed, though did not include any other jets or jetting suggestions. If I remember correctly, the jets that are installed are 170/50.

The bike will have a 10.5:1 610cc piston, full exhaust system, stage 1 cam and some form of airbox modification. Elevation is near sea level (San Francisco).

I know there will be a trial and error process for getting this jetted properly, but if I have some good baseline numbers to start with it will definitely help simplify things.

Thanks!

Dave

How is your jetting turning out? I just put the same carb on my 600r and with and it bogs at WOT. I tried every main jet included with the carb from 165 to 175 and they all bog at WOT.

My motor is similar to yours, I am running a 50 pilot and a 185 main. The bike misses on top when cold, I think I need to go to 190 main. Needle is at the stock position, air jet is a 200 and air adjustment is 1 full turn out from lightly seated. The fuel screw is roughly 1.5 turns out.

I have a 3 angle valve job with porting also.

Get onto the jetting forum and ask burned, he will help you out.
