Another Tire?

I have a 93 XR650L. Currently on my bike there are MT21 Rear 130/90 18 and front 90/90 21. I am looking at a couple of options and maybe someone can tell me first hand which tire is better. I would say that I am 70% strete and 30% dirt.

Options:

Maxxis C6006

Duro HF903/904 MEDIAN

Avon AM24 GRIPSTER

Looking for something good on street and as far as dirt mostly trail riding. No sand or anything like that. What are the differnt numbers in relation to the tire? ex: 130 or 120?

thanks for your help in advance,

i am pretty sure the first number is the width of the tire the second is the height of the sidewall and the third is the rim size.

The best in dirt is the Maxxis, no question. The other two are basically made for all street and some dirt roads. If you plan to do any moderate difficulty off road ridin, get the maxxis because it has some (not much, but way more than the other two) off road capability.

I would agree with what adam said, first number is the width of the tire the second is the height of the sidewall and the third is the rim size. I know the last is the rim size for sure and im 95% sure on the other two.

How sbout a conti tkc 80? Its got knobs but its good on the street.

Hey, what do you think of the MT21? Why dont you like it?

The first number is the width in millimaters, the second is the height, but as a percentage of the first. If 130/80 it would be 130mm wide and 104mm tall. The third is rim size in inches. The tires will be a compromise, nothing works good on both tarmac and dirt. Decide where you want grip and go from there.

I was just looking for something else to try out. When I got the bike the MT2's were aleady on there and not in the best shape. The back end is all over the place in dirt and it rides a little loose on street.

Thanks to everyone for the info.

I just got a Pirelli MT-18HD front. I havent gone real far with it yet but it seems pretty good on the street and is a lot better off road.

I use the kenda trakmaster on my klr650, but i do more like 70% dirt and 30% street.. they wear well and have good grip everywhere. and they are cheap.

What mileage are you getting out of the Trackmasters dakota2 ?

I'm getting about 1500miles out of my Dunlop 606's and am looking for

something a bit longet lasting.
