I've decided to lower the XRL. These are the lowering links that I have found.

Who has experience using these and which one is best and why etc.

I'm leaning towards the performance-design link but I'm always willing to listen to folks with more experience.

I have the KOUBALINK ... workmanship on it is outstanding, two grease zerks, .. very quality piece

I used the KoubaLink because it comes with the bearings installed. You're gonna want to use new bearings and this way it's one less thing to hassle with. Excellent product!

I recently purchased and installed the performance design link...dont have the rest of the bike together yet...but, it has the new bearings, you just reuse the end caps and bolt...2 zerks and its a stout looking piece. Price was right too and install was a snap.

I bought a devol one and the zerks holes were tapped to the wrong size...manufacturer said just block them off because new xrs don't even have zerks installed....maroons

I think I'm goind to need one of those once I get the heavier springs I need.

koubalink here. great piece. Just the right abount of drop.

Did any of you lower a 650r?

I'm planning on putting one on my bike next week. Thanks for the info. guys.:thumbsup:

This may help you out a little. I just installed a new Devol lowering link on the L today. If I had it to do over I would have got the Koubalink instead. The Devol come with no bushings or grease fittings. I had to press out the old bushings from my stock link. I also had to drill and tap the new link for grease fittings. It was pretty good job and took longer than I thought it would. You would be better off to get one that had bushings and grease fittings already installed. Hope this helps.:thumbsup:

I did and used the Kouba. Love it too. Don't forget to drop the forks also.

I tried a koubalink and it caused the bottom of the shock to rub the swingarm. Is that problem solved now?
