2003 yz450f oil level question

9 posts in this topic

On my 450 when i went to change the oil the manual says to put in 2.7 quarts of oil i believe and so i think i got close to it when it came down to it. So yesterday when i went and fired it up and let it idle for the 3 minute time the manual says to iit shows it was way over the full lever. I know i was very close when i filled it because i went slowly and measured out the container to show where i need to stop. And yes im sure i got all the oil out of the crank and the frame. But what my question is will this have done damage to the bike?:thumbsup: ........i am taking some out till i get it right tonite

This is what my manual says as well. The dip stick validates these amounts.

I do not think you have to worry too much about any damage....I am sure you had some oil blow by out of the tube...

Easy to drain if overfilled - just loosen frame drain....I keep mine on 1/2 to 3/4 on the dip stick.
