I love my 426, and I know Husky's had problems but are your friends riding the new TEs? I guess I'd be interested in hearing what, specifically, are the major malfunctions in an 05 or 06 that you've seen? You say they kick it a lot - does the e-start not work? Or are they all older huskys? I know this is the Yami forum, but I'm buying a new bike and so far the o6 husky TE looks a lot better than the 06 WR. Street legal OTD, no mods, more uummph, easy maintenance (valves and plug at least - the plug is right off the case - no more removing the tank just to change the plug.) Anyway, I'm interested in what you said . . . One of my buddys has the 06' 510, and I actually really like that bike after he stripped it down and put the MX exhaust on it, he races the off road series with it here in WA state and his only complaint to date is the inconsistent starting. My guess is that it has something to do with jetting. The suspension and power are awesome! I have a buddy with an 05' 510 and it also has starting problems, he always has jumper cables when we go riding. He has a Rekluse auto clutch in it and the bike is always overheating unless we are riding open land. I have buddy with an 05' 450 and he had a valve drop on him at about 30 hours, he redid the top end with oversized valves and he his happy but he also carries jumper cables with him. My experience is that are overheating alot, they are hard to start, kick starters are not standard equipment but you can get the kit but I've seen alot of the kick starters snapping I didn't mean to bag on them that bad, I think the street legal thing is cool because they are very off road oriented You'll be happy, start checkin' out the Husky forum and you'll be sure to get a sense of the typical issues you'll see.
