Looking at buying '00 YZ426

first, Hola guys! Newbie here, I've lurked around reading various things but now here is my first post

I've been out of the dirt bike scene for awhile (last had a 88 KX500) and am going to go check out an 00 YZ426 tomorrow.

So what needs a close eye and/or what problems do these things have?

Check to make sure the clutch engages smoothly in first gear. If not it will cost you ~$100 to do the 2001 YZ clutch upgrade. Bike should start on 1st or 2nd kick, and accel like a raped ape once on the rpms.

If you last had a 500, I bet you would feel more at home on a big XR650, 525SX, or 525MXC

Not everything applies to the 2000 but it will get you some good advice! Good luck. Remember to know how to do the starting procedure and it should kick on the 1-2 kicks. ?

The guy ended up selling it before I even got a look so I decided to go whole hog and put a down payment on a new 05 KTM 525SX (sorry, yammie guys!). It's the last one around that comes with the dirt and supermoto wheels so my fizzer6 track bike is going to have to go too (unless I can convince my Wifey there is a need for two street bikes....and that's probably not happenin'!)
