Blown rear shock on '85 xr600-what are my options?

My buddy found a puddle of oil under his xr600 from the shock-it is blown out. Is it possible to rebuild it? How much would it cost to replace? What would be the best thing to do? Any help would be much appreciated.

Easy fix and he can get it re-valved for less than 200 bones. If he just wants it fixed it will be around 110 which includes new seals, new oil and cleaning it up.

Do a search on this bulletin board for Hitchcock Industries which is in Denver. He fixed both my leaky shocks and revalved them. He does great work.
