40to 426 mod new cramk?

I am currently having my 1999 pucche out to a 426. i need to have the crankshaft done reguardless. should i put a 426 rod in it?

Yes. The rod bearing on the 426 cranks are an improvement over the 400. It might be worth your while to just purchase a new 426 crank assembly. It would've cost me and additional $60 to buy a new balanced crank than have the local engine builder rebuild my stock one.
