tm designworks installation

The OEM rear guide is around $ 40.

Mine is the original OEM slider put there by Yamaha in '03
How long has that been on?

What time is it now?

The OEM roller is around 20 bucks.

What time is it now?

Yeah, late enough i guess. Or should i say early enough. :ride:

Almost 3 years?! :applause:

I reckon improper installation has to do with my last slider's short life span. The underside hasnt even started wearing but the top is already broke.

Sounds more like a chain run very loose a lot of the time, maybe? Gravity sort of naturally defends the bottom side, while it tends to naturally assault the top.

I was thinking its because i brought it to a shop to retap the slider bolt thread on the swingarm and they sort of mis positioned the hole slightly causing the slider to slightly budge up, probably causing more friction. :applause:

And yeah the thing about gravity defending the underside, just that the underside this time is literally new, as opposed to previous ones which had at least slight wear, indicating it was still kinda shortlived.

I even comtemplated cutting the bottom as a spare for the top since it was so new. :ride:

Explanations, excuses. You have been cruising around with no drag instead of keeping it pinned. I assure you the chain won't touch the slider if pinned :p:lol::p

I have used one of the TM's for over a year. There is more noise than stock, but no big deal if the chain is properly adjusted. It does stop the guide from eating the swingarm. I have a feeling folks are going to be surprised the first time they remove the stock guide.
