shim increments 01 426..

My manual lists the shims in .05 mm increments...

The shims in my bike are 176, 181 etc. not .05mm increments...

Why is that ??

When the bikes come from the factory they shim all the valves so their ajusted perfectly. When you buy new shims they only come .05mm increments only for yamaha, because they dont all have to be exact as long as its within the tolerances. I've heard you can get shims from honda that are in .02mm increments.
