How are you getting this licensed for street being that you are in CA? I thought that was almost impossible.

the 05 and 06 wrs do not have a c or a 3 as the 8th digit in the vin, so it can easly be done, also some shops like joe racer in san jose can do it for like $85.00 just to fill out paperwork.

With you being 260lbs, the best possible modification you could possibly do would be to get the suspension set up properly with new springs and a revalve. The forks seem to be valved really soft. The standard shock seems to be alright.

The standard suspension is for people that weigh about 160 - 170 lbs.

I am about 6'2" and weigh about 210lbs and went to .50kg/mm fork springs and a 6.0kg/mm shock spring.

This made a huge difference as before the bike would sag right down but now sits up in the stroke nice.

Do all the free mods and your bike will go pretty good. Put on an aftermarket pipe and your bike will rip. If you have the money, get a vortex ignition instead of doing the "grey wire" mod. It will make your bike go better. Get a JD jet kit and a 48 pilot jet.

you are very lucky to get adjustable triple clamp and fatbar standard, I would get some bar rises as these will give you more room and make you a lot more comfortable.

I was checking the pricing here at the TT shop for a TTR250LE for the wife. Good pricing :applause:

I don't know if you are in Nor. Cal but check with San Mateo Yamaha if you are. They are moving their shop and are trying to sell as many bikes as they can before the move. They have very aggressive prices. Here is their number

650-343-9750 ask for Dan and what their OTD price is.

They quoted me $6500 OTD for 06 WR450, but I am also buying the 06 TTR50E for my son and they quoted it at 1200 OTD. Did you get any quotes on the Honda CRF450X at East Bay Motorsports?

no i did not but if you are serious on getting a bike or 2 private message me and i will let the people at mission motorcycles know about you and probably get the best deal on any bike yam ,hon or whatever. i bought about 3 bikes from them and brought my friends down there for bikes about 12 bikes total. they gave them unbeatable deals because i went there with them of called the sales manager to tell her that they were on there way to get a bike. they took care of them really good. in some cases through in some riding gear too on top of discount. let me know

i lighting kit that you get has to be dot legal. i think you can download the paper work from the joe racer web site. they also tell everything that needs to be filled out. i think if you bring them a complete bike all ready for street use they charge 85.00 to plate it for you

Wow . I guess I can sell my plated 01 and get a new 450. I guess I'll have to check with some local dealers.
