85-87 dual carbs...

6 posts in this topic

Im looking for a set of the 85-87 dual carbs for the XR600. They are different than the 83-84 500R's OEM parts.

Anybody got a set?

Ive been looking on Ebay for months. Ive seen one set and some moron paid almost 200 bucks for a set.

Or, if you've got an 88' 600R somewhere, I'll take the intake manifold and single carb and air boot for that too...that set up is worth more money to me...

Or if someone has a take off single carb, I'll take that too, I can buy the 88 manifold from Honda still... :applause:

I'm sorry, but I don't have a set. But I have a question. Can the dual carb setup be changed to single without cylinder head replacement? It seems that would be the thing to do.

ya, the 88' intake manifold will do that for ya.

You can buy the manifold at the Honda dealer still for 35 bucks new. The carb on the other hand is the expensive part. Doing it cheap is the issue. Throwing 350 bucks at a 350 dollar motorcycle doesnt make much sense...

I think there is an XR 600 carb listed on ebay today. Do the XL600R dual carbs fit your XR 600R dual carb setup?

I have an '86 xr600r dual card setup. You would need to rebuild them. Your option. I can get them out of my shed next week. I could send pictures. Tony

They do.

The California models carry some smog crap though...But its fairly easy to defeat that stuff...

Do you have a set?
