8 posts in this topic

anyone got one? my bik eis a clean 03 model with 2 sets of plastics, radiator guards and everything else stock. I have done 3 trail rides (second owner) but i dont think it will make a good street supermoto bike. Im thinking about even trade (any year XR650R but should be in good condition) Im in Dallas area.

here is a couple pics of my bike.

hahahahah

well if iride the CRF like i rode my DRZ on the street probaly will end up like the Jeep above...

The XR650R has less maintence than a CRF and this is the main reason i want to trade it... if i could check valves on my CRF once a month with dailyriding i wouldnt want to trade it.

I remember when the CRF450R came out and lots of CRF450 guys said the 650r is dead, no longer competitive, etc. All you have to do is check SCORE, BITD, etc, race results and you'll see a lot more 650r's winning top positions compared to the CRF450 in a number of races. Things may be different once the CRF600X comes out, but until then I think we'll see more good results from the 650r in certain races.

Yep. Working on bikes yourself and/or having to finish long events adds perspective beyond the usual "this week's best bike" magazine hype!

All the aircraft references reminds me of the air force joke, " the last B-2 Stealth bomber that goes to the boneyard will have a B-52 escort!" :banghead:
