timing chain

how often should the timing chain be replace?

a freind told me that if i open cylinder head replace also the timing chain because the chain can worn the sprocket on the crankshaft.

is it true or if the chain is looks not worn i can keep it?

Per Eric Gorr, annually on the YZF's, would imagine the same on WR if you ride alot and especially if you ride hard. I recall Eric saying something about having to replace the cam sprocket and cam itself if the chain gets too worn and wears the sprocket? More details on his website under the 4 stroke section regarding YZ's
