What is the clutch switch for?

2 posts in this topic

I just swaped out my clutch perch on my '04 450 for a MSR Raptor with hotstart

(the best perch out there).

On the MSR perch there is no place for the clutch switch. The thing is I cannot see how the clutch switch would effect the operation of the bike. I have ridden it around with the plunger on the switch out and can see no diffrence in performance, starting or anything else. unless i am reading the wiring diagram wrong the clutch switch is just worthless.

anyone know what this is supposed to do

well it is there to fill up with dirt and fail. most people just take them out and connect the wires together. i suppose it is to stop you from starting the bike in gear with the clutch out.
