Stock 05 WR Suspension VS Rider Weight

Recommended Posts

I weigh 220 and measured my sag (while standing on pegs) at 108 mm with out of the crate settings on my 05 WR, little on the high side as ~100mm is optimum. I suspect a 190 to 200 lb rider would be pretty close with stock settings.

Wait till you have bedded in the suspension. You will find it to be too soft.

I am about 225lbs w/o gear and the sag measured 102mm after I "compressed" the rear shock by tightening the adjuster nut several turns. Rear tire still occasionally makes contact with side of muffler when riding really hard. I might need to beef up the shock by changing to a .48kg/mm Race-Tech shock. Stock shock is .46kg/mm.

A friend of mine is 6'8", and 340lbs, and rides a stock bike and likes it just fine. I know it doesn't make it right, but he justs putts around and and everything is is good :D

I am 185 and love my stock suspension the way it is. :D
