weight of 2001 yz426?

5 posts in this topic

I have a 2001 yz 426 and was just wondering what it weighs? I rode a 05 ktm 450 for about 3 mins today and it felt 100 lb lighter, just wondering how much weight diffrence there is, and what the rest of the diffrence in feeling is from? Thanks, Charlie

FWIW my 99 yz400f weight about 225 lbs dry & I would think your 426 would be very close to that

I rode a friends 02 RM250 & like you mentioned it felt 100 lbs lighter

I think most of this is simply due to a lower center of gravity which I beleive even the newer YZ's feel a LOT better then the 400/426's

just a guess though :applause:

I just posted a new thread about 426 weights. My 2000 weighs 250 with gas and oil - or that is what my owners manual says. I am wondering how this compares to newer bikes.

Many replies on this. You can do a search for YZ & Weight. Newer bikes are about 10-11lbs lighter.
