DO YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE CARB TO ADJUST THE NEEDLE OR CAN YOU DO IT WHILE IT IS STILL ON THE BIKE?

Preferred method for the 2000/2001 WR:

1)disconnect the throttle cables at the grip, 2 screws

2)remove the 2 screws on the carb clamps, leave the clamps hanging loose

3)disconnect the fuel line and TPS electrical plug on the carb

4)pull the air boot back and pull the carb out only about 8 inches, while tilting it. Use your right hand on the kick start side to slide the throttle cable under the tank.

5)let the carb hang from the cables while you remove the carb top and access the needle.

Reverse procedure putting it back together, pull the cables out at the top while sliding the carb in.

With tools in hand it takes 5 minutes to get the needle out (when things go smoothly). It takes about 10 minutes to carefully put it back together.

Make sure things are clean and no dirt gets in the carb or engine.
