main jet or clip position

which change has the smallest effect on the mixture, going from a 168 to a 170 or going fromthe #4 to #5 clip position???????????

From my experience, the main jet has more effect on mixture than the needle clip position. I look at like this. The needle clip effects acceleration from 0 to 3/4 throttle while the main jet effects mixture at 3/4 throttle to full.

For example, if you have a "bog" when you quickly crack the throttle, then move the needle down in the hole, clip up one position.

If the bike needs more fuel from 3/4 to full throttle, then go up on the main jet. Test this by seeing which main jet gives you more power and speed.
