WOW. You could eat off of that for two years..for a family of four. Imagine the whiskers.....

jesus christ, I didn't think those things got over 100 lbs, let alone 640!

Man...

Can you imagine the smell on that thing? I mean cats have a certain "odor" about them but a 640 pounder?

Whew!

damn thats one huge fish.

Catfish get really big. Talk to some divers who explore your lakes and dams and you will be suprised from the stories. Heard of catfish as big as volkswagons. Thailand is great! I been there a few times and have enjoyed Mekong whiskey! Talk about a buzz, man I saw flying 640lb. catfish......really!

omg...... that is one ugly mofo..... i bet it put up a pretty good fight for a fresh water fish

That'll feed a family of four... :)

Actually, from what I heard they did end up eating it.

They wanted to sell it when it was alive but it died. So they ate it. :)

Some one told me that those stories of huge catfish near damn's was a myth :) But you never know. That would scare the hell out of me to come face to face with one while diving.

Wow.....what if they kept it alive :)

dude that's not even a fish anymore, it's a small whale

thats... big...

something that big and cool should have been released.

hehehe.. looks like a baby whale..

I read the article which went with the pic. The fish was caught by scientists who are studying the decline in the population of giant fish in the Mekong delta. They were going to release the fish but it died before they could so they gave it to the local villagers who ate it.

I'll try and find the full article.

How about going noodling for one of those!!!!???? LOL
