Shortening the stock 450 silencer

4 posts in this topic

Has anybody done this mod to their Yamaha and what were the effects on overall power? It seems like it would be a easy one to do! I've seen other threads for Hondas but none for the YZ's. Any thoughts?

I've heard about minor performance gains from this, but it definitely looks a lot better too in my opinion. I have an aftermarket exhaust by gyt-r that is pretty short which i love.

When I had my Crf I shortened it only because on the 02 models it was to long and prone to damage. I did not notice any sound differences or power gains or losses. :)
