Ceramic coated TA rusting?

While washing my bike the other day, I noticed that my ceramic coated Thunder Alley pipe was starting to get rust spots all over it (I've had it for almost two years now). I was under the impression that it shouldn't rust with the ceramic coating on there... it cleaned up fine with some #00 steel wool, but I wonder if I should get in touch with Bob or Embee and see what the deal is.

I don't know without seeing it, but could rocks/stones have put a bunch of little chips in the coating, exposing bare metal?

Not likely, but possible... most of it was down near where it connects to the head pipe, which is pretty hard to hit with a rock.

OK, like I said, hard to tell from here. Most of the ceramic coated parts i've seen have been V8 headers, and they have still held up after years of work. The engine bay of a car isn't really exposed to the elements though. Have you called TA, and asked if they've had any other complaints? They may re-do your pipe as a good faith gesture. I can't say i've ever read/heard anything bad about TA. I've even considered getting a muffler for my 426 from them.....
