Unabiker Radiator Guards

Whent with everyones recommendation and installed some Unabiker Rad guards for my '05 WR450. They fit great and the finish was just as good. I ended up replacing the two front radiator bolts on each radiator with the next size longer bolt to make the installation a little eaisier. Also used allen buttonheads for this so I could use a allen T handle to fit between the guard and the radiator. Thanks for the help TTer's. :)

Do you have to get rid of the plastic airflow guides infront of the radiator to put the guards on? If so, does it affect cooling? :)

I love my black Unibikers and it seems to me the cooling has gotten a little better but I have no proof, just an observation. They look so good under there. I am gettin all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it. :)

i did a little modding to the louvers and attached them to the front of the unabiker grills. i had to dremel tool the back of the flaps flush (about a 1/4") and then because of the angle to the rad, i had to cut a 1/4" of the front of the fins also. it works for keeping the mud out of the rad fins. i think it may help the airflow,but even if it doesn't i think the lack of mud in the fins would make up for it after a while in a mudfest. i didn't use the back braces as i have a aftermarket tank and fluidyne rads. even after brian tried to make me some custom braces i could not get them to fit correctly,so i just used the threaded inserts in the louvers to hold it together and zip tied the other side onto the grill. the louvers match up perfectly to the rows of holes. oh i forgot i ordered my grills flat just for this purpose,so i suppose you'd need to either flatten the ones you have or order them flat as i did. the way i cut them they just clear the front tire.
