Re-Jetting w/ Aftermarket Exhaust?

10 posts in this topic

Machine: '01 YZ426F

Exhaust : Dr. Z (Header & Silencer)

Jetting: Factory

Performance: Could be better :D

I have heard that using aftermarket exhaust it is necessary (recommended) to re-jet? Truth to this? If so, please provide some suggestions. I have research FMF , K&N, and couple other manufactures that have jetting capabilities. .

Help needed! :)

Thanks!

Temper, Temper! Easy on the Throttle MG. I will take your suggestions and use them as needed. Now was that so hard.

On the dyno my Ti4 pipe leaned out the mid alot. You may want to try and richen up your needle and main. It really depends on your riding conditions. My bike is still fat 2-3 sizes on the main according to the dyno. But I'm a mx racer and it doesn't see alot of WOT for long periods of time. It does but not long enough for the main to be effective. Fatten it up and you will see.

I assume you mean DRD pipe - I had this combo on my old 01

raise or lower the clip on the needle - and go richer or leaner on the main with temp settings above or below 55.....

DR. D is correct! I may have to go leaner, simply due to the fact that my last fouled plug was black. Does this mean lowering the clip to gain a leaner burn?

Thanks for the help.
