Lubrication on a new bike

4 posts in this topic

Hey guys, I just picked up a YZ250 2-stroke. (sold my 250F now this is my first 2-stroke... WOW! its fast!) Anyway, I know I need to grease my swing arm and steering bearings. Does anyone know of a how-to guide for this? Do I need any special tools? Should I just bring it in to the shop and have it done?

Thanks,

-Christian :naughty:

Get the owners manual; it should have very good instructions on disassembly and reassembly.

I did not remove the front wheel , it was quicker to remove the whole fork assembly with the wheel on, but I had some help holding the bike on the stand. There is almost no grease in the bearings, ridiculous. :naughty:

Is there a 450 thumperfaq? I know the 2 models are similar but not exact.
