timing problem?

On Saturday, I changed out my timing chain in my 2000 YZ 426. It was pretty streched out.

Anyway, I put everything back together and it fired up with one kick.

Went out riding yesterday and I noticed that I'm lacking a little horsepower compared to the way it ran before I changed out my timing chain. It's not a huge horsepower loss but there is a difference. Anybody have any clue as to what is wrong? Maybe i didn't align the cams correctly?

I think it's 12 pins between??? Make sure you were TDC?

yes, I made sure i was at TDC. I followed the manual pretty closely. What does 12 pins mean? Thanks!!

12 pins in the timing chain between the punch marks on the cam sprockets.

12 pins in the timing chain between the punch marks on the cam sprockets.

I think the WR's are 13, i times my WR to YZ specs which was 12 pins between!

So, that is 12 pins, not 12 links. It seems there are a lot more than 12 pins between those punch marks than just 12. There are 2 pins per link.
