What gas do you guys run.

110 Octane race gas. It is always the same, so I only have to rejet for temperature changes. No fouling.

I assume you are using a big bore kit with that gas?

If your using stock compression, there's no way the plug wouldn't foul.

BTW, I was using 91-92 Octane pump gas. Next ride I start using VP U-4.

The bikes are designed to run on pump premium. Running more octane won't do anything. On supercross tracks some guys use 91 octane because the bikes pull harder out of corners.

The VP U4 is a different story.

A YZ450 is faster than 99.9% of people can handle anyway.

Yeah, the .1 must be Chad Reed. :naughty:

I noticed a lot of you run VP U4, but that is a leaded fuel right? My 05 450 manual clearly states use unleaded fuel only and by using leaded fuel will cause severe damage to the engine.

Not sure about the lead but it will not injure your 05 - it will add 2-3hp

The only negative I have experienced with it is this - if you leave it in the carb for more than a week - it will start to gum up the carb - I drain the carb after each days ride/race. I will never go back to 93 pump gas - it is that good!!! :naughty:

I am also running the VP U4, its so good that my friends call it "Crack", once you use it your hooked.

Although it did get very expensive over the winter. Last year it was $40 and the first time I bought it this year I paid $57 :naughty:

how much do you get for 57 dollars!?

Klotz 113 race fuel, $260 bucks for 30 gallons.

Best race gas ever IMHO.

I will never run VP again.

daaaang thats spendy... if i raced i would probably have to have it but since i just ride recreation i'll stick with the pump gas. maybe buy a pipe later to get that extra 1 or 2 hp.

5 gallons :naughty:
