How can i get my header pipe clean?

I have a 99 yz426, and i love the bike, it really makes me mad to see that ugly copper colored titanium header pipe, i want to bring back out the clean look of the titanium, any suggestions?

1999 Would be a YZ400. Either you listed the wrong year, or the wrong model. Unless you changed the headpipe, its not titanium, its steel.

I dont know of any ways to bring back the original silverish color.

Steel wool.

yer the header is steel use either wire wool or wet and dry(emry paper)

ScotchBrite pad with WD-40 works great on my 04 Ti headpipe.

Not sure about stainless though.

use baking soda and a green pad its great!!!!!!

Grey Scotchbrite pad

Sorry my bike is a 2000, 99 is the year of my truck, sorry about that... thanks for the suggestions

I used a rag, some diesel fuel and some grease.

..............elbow grease!!!

came out shiny and bright.

You need to pretty much clean it after every ride though, otherwise you'll be back to square one. Steel wool (mild), and metal polish works best in my experience. :naughty:

My standard head pipe has the heat guard tabs ground off, smoothed with wet and dry sandpaper then polished on a buffing wheel. When you start the motor up it goes a purpley gold color. Looks awesome.
